Postcards from HeavenOn December 5th 2018, H. A. Prozenko held an art exhibition at the Old Dutch Church in Halifax, showing off this new style of iconography. This church is the oldest Lutheran church in Canada, beginning in 1756 by Lutheran immigrants, and so it was the perfect venue for Confessional Lutheran iconography. The Old Dutch Church is maintained by the Anglican St. George's Round Church who had amalgamated with the Lutheran congregation in the early 19th century.
The Old Dutch Church never had the funds for any fine art altarpieces or sanctuary art, after nearly 300 years it's finally getting to exhibit some. Thanks to everyone that came out and we'll be hopefully exhibiting there again in the future! |
